New Review: SpringHill Suites Denver Downtown

After two stylish nights at The Art Hotel Denver, it was time for a change of scenery. I had two main reasons for switching hotels: First, I wanted to stay closer to Ball Arena (formerly Pepsi Center) to catch a hockey game; second, I wanted to explore a new property and earn some Marriott Bonvoy points.

As always, I booked directly via the Marriott website to make the most of my Elite status benefits.

🛎️ Check-In – Friendly, Despite Ongoing Renovations at that time

When I arrived, it was clear that renovations were in full swing. Parts of the lobby were blocked off, and the hotel didn’t quite show itself in its best light. Fortunately, this didn’t affect the warm and efficient check-in experience.

I was informed about a complimentary upgrade to an Executive City View King Room, which was much appreciated. As a nice extra, I was invited to grab a few items from the on-site Marketplace – snacks and drinks included.

Funny enough, the staff had already stocked my room with refreshments, so I ended up with more snacks and water than I knew what to do with. When I offered to return some, they politely declined – so I just embraced the abundance.

🛏️ Room – Spacious, Clean & with a City View

The room felt fresh and newly renovated, which was a great first impression. The upgrade gave me more space, including a cozy seating area with a sofa – perfect for a short stay with a bit of extra comfort.

The city view overlooking the arena was a real highlight, especially at night with the stadium lights in the distance.

There was also a mini fridge (empty this time), and the desk area, while not particularly stylish, was very functional. Plenty of outlets were available, which is always appreciated when traveling with multiple devices.

🚿 Bathroom – Clean & Standard with Dispensers

The bathroom was simple but clean, equipped with wall-mounted dispensers for soap, shampoo, and conditioner. While I generally prefer individual bottles, this setup is becoming increasingly common in the U.S. It was stocked well and maintained to a good standard.

🍽️ Breakfast – Standard but Satisfying

Breakfast was included and served in the adjacent dining area. It was quite crowded, so I wasn’t able to take photos, but the offering was a typical continental spread: eggs, toast, fruit, cereal, yogurt, and coffee.

Nothing fancy, but plenty to fuel your morning – and free always adds a bit of charm.

Note: as this review was written during the renovation I took out the pictures of the breakfast as this was a temporary solution and has changed in the meantime.

✅ Check-Out – Smooth & Accommodating

Check-out was quick and professional. The bill was emailed as promised, and my car was ready when I needed it. I also requested a late check-out due to my evening flight, and it was granted with no hassle – very accommodating and much appreciated.

📝 Final Thoughts – Great Value Near the Action

All in all, my stay at SpringHill Suites Denver Downtown was pleasant and efficient. Despite the renovation, the service and comfort didn’t suffer.

The location near Ball Arena makes it a great option for sports or concert visitors, and with just a short walk, you’re in Denver’s city center.
