New Review Hilton – Hilton Toronto (King Sky View Room)

For the second night of my Toronto trip, I chose the Hilton Toronto Downtown. I booked a flexible rate, mainly because the price was great and I wanted to keep my options open – I was also considering the InterContinental. Since I was only staying for one night, I went with the most affordable option: a King Guest Room.

📍 Location

The hotel is reachable from Toronto Pearson International Airport in about an hour, whether you’re driving or taking public transport. For exploring the city, the location is ideal – both the subway and streetcar stations are within walking distance. In fact, most major shopping and sightseeing areas are just a short stroll away.

🛎️ Check-In

I arrived in the afternoon by train from Niagara Falls. The check-in area wasn’t busy at all, and I was helped immediately. The staff were very friendly and accommodating – I was even given an upgrade to a King Sky View Room, which was a lovely surprise. They also handed me a voucher for premium Wi-Fi without me even asking. On top of that, a few packages I had delivered to the hotel were already waiting for me in the room. Great service!

🛏️ Room

My first impression of the room was very positive – especially compared to my previous night’s stay elsewhere. The entrance area was well-lit, and on the right-hand side was a clean bathroom with a shower and toilet. The lighting in the bathroom was bright but comfortable. As you’d expect from Hilton, the basic toiletries (shampoo, shower gel, etc.) were provided.

The room itself was spacious and featured a comfortable lounge chair, desk chair, small side table, and a workstation. The large TV was positioned perfectly for watching from the bed.

Other amenities included a safe, ironing board, coffee maker, and complimentary bottled water – again, standard but appreciated Hilton touches.

The view from the room was great, and thanks to the clear weather, I could really enjoy it.

🍽️ Bar & Restaurant

Breakfast was available as a credit, but since I chose to eat in the Executive Lounge, I didn’t try the hotel restaurant. There’s also a Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse on-site, but unfortunately, I didn’t have time to check it out.

☕ Executive Lounge

The Executive Lounge is located on the top floor, where the suites are. Access is available to both suite guests and Hilton Honors elite members. In the morning, a full breakfast is served, and later in the day, there are hot snacks and alcoholic beverages available – a really nice perk if you’re eligible.

🚗 Check-Out

Check-out was quick, smooth, and friendly – no complaints there. I then headed to the airport using public transit, which was once again straightforward and reliable.

✅ Final Thoughts

All in all, this was a very pleasant stay. The hotel is well-located, the service was excellent, and everything worked as it should. It might not have been the most luxurious stay of my trip, but it was solid, comfortable, and totally fit the purpose.
