New Review Hotel Hilton – Hilton Niagara Falls

For my weekend trip to Toronto, I wanted to include a visit to Niagara Falls. So, I decided to book a hotel with a Falls View, of course. I reserved a non-refundable rate through the Hilton app, choosing the most affordable option available: a King Guest Room with Falls View, since I was only staying one night.

📍 Location

The hotel is accessible from Toronto’s airports by car or public transportation within two to three hours. However, I have to say that public transit options aren’t ideal – you’ll need to transfer a few times. Once you arrive though, the hotel is in walking distance from the falls, which is perfect for sightseeing.

🛎️ Check-In – Late Arrival, Digital Convenience

After a long day of travel – which included a frustrating experience at border control – I didn’t make it to the hotel until close to midnight. I was hoping for a quick and quiet check-in, but when I entered the lobby, I was surprised to see that it was still quite busy, even at that late hour. A few families, some international travelers, and a handful of other late arrivals were all waiting in line at the front desk.

Rather than stand in line, I decided to take advantage of the Hilton app’s Digital Key feature, which I had already set up earlier in the day. Within a few taps on my phone, I was able to bypass the front desk entirely, head straight to the elevator, and unlock my room with my phone.

Honestly, it was one of those moments where I was really thankful for mobile check-in – smooth, efficient, and especially valuable after a tiring journey. If you’re arriving late (or just don’t feel like dealing with queues), this is definitely the way to go.

There was no welcome greeting or elite status recognition since I didn’t check in at the desk, but that’s a trade-off I was willing to make for the convenience. My room assignment and Falls View upgrade were already visible in the app earlier that day, which was a nice reassurance.

The lobby itself made a solid first impression – clean, modern, and bustling – though that modern vibe unfortunately didn’t quite carry through to the rooms.

🛏️ Room

My first impression of the room? Honestly, a bit underwhelming. The lobby still looks modern, but the rooms feel outdated and could definitely use a refresh.

The entrance area was well lit by hotel standards. On the right-hand side was the bathroom, equipped with a toilet, shower, and a bathtub. Lighting in the bathroom was decent, and the usual Hilton toiletries (shampoo, body wash) were provided.

The TV was positioned well and easily viewable from the bed. As expected, there was a safeironing boardcoffee maker, and complimentary bottled water – all standard for Hilton.

The highlight, without question, was the view. I had clear weather and the Falls View really was stunning – definitely the best part of the stay.

🍽️ Dining & Bar

Breakfast was included in my rate as a voucher or credit, which could be used at the hotel restaurant. The food was good, but prices are quite high—especially when compared to what I’ve experienced in Asia or South America. There’s no Executive Lounge at this hotel, but I considered the breakfast view of the falls well worth the trade-off.

The hotel bar is located near the entrance and serves drinks and light snacks, perfect if you don’t feel like going out again in the evening.

🚗 Check-Out

Check-out was smooth and friendly – just how it should be. I called an Uber to the train station, since I had plans that evening to catch an NHL game back in Toronto.

✅ Final Thoughts

The view of Niagara Falls from the room was truly breathtaking – it’s hard to beat that. However, the hotel itself could use some modernization. If you’re after comfort, service, and that classic Hilton experience, you’ll get it here – but don’t expect cutting-edge design or newly renovated rooms.

That said, for a one-night stay focused on the view, it absolutely served its purpose.
