New Review – Radisson Blue Lissabon (LIS)

For a short stay in Lisbon, I chose the Radisson Blu Lisbon, mainly because of its convenient location close to the airport. I was also curious to see how my Radisson VIP status would be recognized here. Whether the stay was worth it – you’ll find out in this review!

📍 Booking & Location

As always, I booked directly through the Radisson app, using the option “fewer points, more discount.” That paid off – the rate was unbeatable compared to other booking sites. Just before my arrival, prices went up significantly, so I was glad I had booked early.

Getting from the airport to the hotel was quick and easy:
🚗 Travel time: around 12 minutes
💸 Cost: only EUR 4.08 with Uber (the return trip was roughly double)

The shared Uber & Bolt pick-up area at the airport was a bit chaotic, but overall the transfer went more or less smoothly.

🛎️ Check-In

I arrived late in the evening, and the reception area was calm and well-staffed. The welcome was friendly and efficient. Thanks to my Radisson VIP status, I received a complimentary upgrade to a suite – a very nice touch, especially since the hotel was fully booked that night.

I was given all the breakfast details and a warm greeting upon check-in.
The official rack rates displayed at the reception were far above what I had paid – a reassuring reminder that booking early really pays off.

🛏️ Room

The lobby looked modern and elegant, but once I reached my floor, it became clear that the hotel is showing its age a little. A renovation would definitely be a plus.

The room itself was spacious and clean. On the right-hand side was the bathroom, with a shower, toilet, and all the basic amenities you might need if you forgot something.

The bedroom was comfortable but clearly not brand new. The bed was excellent – very soft, with clean linens and good pillows.

There was also a TV and two desks, which is great if you need to work. The room narrows slightly toward the window, which makes the layout feel a bit awkward, and power outlets were in short supply – an easy fix the hotel should consider.

A stocked minibar was available, as well as an ironing board hidden behind the door.

In the adjoining sitting area, a welcome gift was waiting for me – a really nice surprise: complimentary water, a bottle of port wine, some nuts, and a personalized greeting card. A thoughtful touch that made a great impression.

There was also a large wardrobe with a safe, bathrobes, and an extra blanket.

Behind that was a small sofa corner with a coffee table and another TV – though the sofa looked a bit more comfortable than it actually was. I didn’t spend much time there.

🍽️ Breakfast

The breakfast area on the ground floor was quite busy, but I found a seat right away.
It was a bit tricky to take good photos since the room was full, but the food selection was solid and fresh.

The buffet included a nice mix of hot and cold options, and everything was replenished frequently, which is not always the case in busy hotels.

All in all, a good and satisfying breakfast experience.

🧳 Check-Out

Check-out was quick and smooth.
However, I had to wait a bit longer than expected for my Bolt ride back to the airport – apparently, that’s a common issue in this area, as the receptionist confirmed.

✅ Conclusion

The Radisson Blu Lisbon stands out for its proximity to the airport, friendly service, and recognition of VIP status. Prices are also very reasonable during the off-season.

The rooms are fine but somewhat dated – a light renovation would make a big difference.

For a short overnight stay before or after a flight, it’s a comfortable and reliable choice.
